A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to comprise pixel electrodes divided to express different gradations within one pixel, thereby applying different pixel voltages efficiently to a main pixel electrode and a sub pixel electrode. A first pixel electrode(271) and a second pixel electrode(272) are individually applied with pixel voltages. A control switching element is electrically connected to the second pixel electrode. A control electrode(255a) is electrically connected to the control switching element. A first storage line(223) forms a first storage capacitor by overlapping with the first pixel electrode. A second storage line(226) individually forms a control capacitor and a second storage capacitor by overlapping with the control electrode and the second pixel electrode.
