An electrochemical device is provided to ensure excellent thermal stability by employing an electrode structure omitted with an electrode active material on the surface of a current collector. An electrochemical device comprises an electrode structure (100a) consisting of a composite membrane(10a), a cathode current collector(20) and an anode current collector(30). The composite membrane includes a porous base material(1) having a plurality of pores; the first porous coating layer(2) which is coated on the upper side of a porous base material, and is formed with a mixture of cathode active material particles and the first binder polymer; and the second porous coating layer(5) which is coated on the lower side of a porous base material, and is formed with a mixture of anode active material particles and the second binder polymer.
