ORGANIC LIGHT EMITTING DISPLAY AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

An organic electroluminescent display device and a driving method thereof are provided to display image with desired brightness and improve gradation representation by compensating deterioration of organic light emitting diodes. Pixels(140) include organic light emitting diodes and a pixel circuit for controlling supply of current to the organic light emitting diodes. A sensing unit(170) converts the voltage applied to the organic light emitting diodes into a digital value while supplying a first current to the organic light emitting diodes in each pixel during a sensing period. The sensing unit sinks a second current from the pixels in response to the digital value. The second current can be used to compensate the deterioration of the organic light emitting diodes during a sampling period. The second current includes a current value selected correspondingly to the bit of the data among current values of I and a current used to compensate deterioration of the organic light emitting diodes.
