Disclosed is a process for producing a diaryl amine compound of the formula 24, wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification, comprising the steps of (1) coupling a compound of formula 21 with an amine of formula 22 in the presence of an alkali metal salt or a transition metal catalyst, and (2) removing radical Y from the resultant compound in the presence of an acid. Also disclosed are compounds of formulae (A) and (B), wherein each of X1, X2, X3, and X4 is independently selected from fluoro or chloro; and R is H or methyl.
