A self-propelled watercraft launch and retrieve vehicle is disclosed. The vehicle comprises a central chassis 1 which includes a cradle for carrying a boat and from which the boat may be launched from and retrieved onto the vehicle. The chassis has at least one pair of forward wheels 12 and at least one pair of rear wheels. Hydraulic motors are associated with each of the pairs of wheels for driving the wheels. A prime mover or electric motor and a hydraulic pump or pumps driven by the prime mover are mounted at or towards the forward end of the chassis and elevated above the chassis. At least one hydraulic pump is arranged to drive the forward wheels, and at least one other hydraulic pump is arranged to drive the rear wheels. A hand held remote control unit is operable by an operator standing beside or near the vehicle to cause the vehicle to move forward or to reverse and to steer the launch vehicle to the left or right.
