A backlight assembly of a liquid crystal display device and a method thereof are provided to prevent the movement of the lamp by using a lamp socket which connects the lamp with the inverter directly. A lamp(80) is fixed by a main body(99). A power on member(110) is made of the electrically conductive material which carries the elasticity while being posted at the inner side of the main body. An inverter board(170) having the lamp and the inverter are electrically connected. The lead line of lamp is inserted into the lamp connection unit(111) and the lead line is fixed. The inverter connection unit(115) is integrally formed with the lamp connection unit. And it fixes while covering the protrusion(173) of the inverter board.
