SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VEHICLE USING LOCATION INFORMATION

A system for controlling velocity of car using location information is provided to reduce automatically a limit speed of sections of roads according to an operation of a rainwater sensing sensor, a wiper and fog lights. A system for controlling velocity of car using location information contains a map storage(20) in which a section limit speed of all kinds of the roads is constructed in a form of a digital map, a GPS receiver(30) receiving the location information of the vehicles from a GPS satellite, a speed detector(40) detecting operating speed of the operated vehicles by a cruise control unit, a speed increasing and decreasing part(50) for accelerating or decelerating an operating speed of the vehicle by controlling a brake or a speed-up unit of the vehicles and an automatically speed controlling part(60) for accelerating or decelerating operating speed of the vehicles using the speed increasing and decreasing part.
