The invention relates to the use of a material consisting of a solid support on which plane nitrogenous aromatic groupings carrying at least one positive charge associated with a counter-ion are immobilised, for extracting compounds which are inhibitors of catalytic reactions used in the treatment of hydrocarbon mixtures of the diesel boiling range, especially hydrodesulphurisation reactions, from a mixture of hydrocarbons having a boiling temperature in the diesel boiling range, by absorption, said compounds being selected from polyaromatic and neutral nitrogenous compounds. The invention also relates to a hydrotreatment method implementing such a use.
