MAXIMUM LIKELIHOOD DETECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A maximum likelihood detection apparatus and a method thereof for improving the performance of low-complexity in a wireless telecommunications system are provided to classify and sort the modulation method of each stream in a MIMO system. A sorting/classifying part(100) performs the queue/classification based on stream error probability of a low complexity ML receiver. The sorting/classifying part needs channel matrix information, noise power information(112) and stream modulation method information shared with the ML detection unit(110). An ML detection part performs the ML sensing algorithm of low-complexity based on the queue/category information(114) transmitted from the sorting/classifying part.
