A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to display an image at a low temperature by preventing a voltage level of a gate turn-on signal applied to a first gate line from lowering by changing control signals applied to the gate driving unit. A display panel(100) includes a plurality of gate lines connected to a plurality of pixels. A gate clock generator(400) generates a gate clock signal when the width of a high logic section of a first gate clock signal in one frame section smaller than the width of a high logic section of other gate clock signals. A gate driver(200) applies the gate turn-on signal to a plurality of gate lines successively according to the gate clock bar signal with the phase opposite to the other gate clock signal after the first gate clock signal and the gate clock signal.
