A method for controlling a fan of an underground duct is provided to analyze information on the operation status of the fan upon a fire and stop the fan in operation. A method for controlling a fan of an underground duct comprises a step of analyzing information on the current operation status of the fan when fire occurrence signal is received, and a step of stopping the fan when the fan is in operation or keeping the fan suspended when the fan is not in operation according to the analyzed information. The fan operating in the normal mode is converted to the semiautomatic mode according to the request of administrator and automatically converted to the normal mode after a predetermined time.
