A brush for generator is provided to determine abrasion and replacement time of the brush easily by including a replacement time display unit confirming wear condition with visual or tactility. A brush for a generator comprises a brush body and a replacement time display unit(200). The brush body is made of carbon material. The replacement time display unit is formed at the surface of the brush body. A '-' shaped good limit groove(210), a '-' shaped attention limit groove(212) and a '-' shaped replacement limit groove(214) is the lower part of the brush body, it successively is formed with the top. The '-' shaped good limit groove indicates the good wear condition of the brush body. The '-' shaped attention limit groove indicates the attention toward the wear condition of the brush body. The '-' shaped replacement limit groove indicates the need of the brush replacement. Each printing layer is formed in the good limit groove, the attention limit groove and replacement limit groove.
