A light emitting device and a display device having the same are provided to form an arcing prevention member on one side of a second substrate facing a first substrate and supply the optimum height of the arcing prevention member, thereby suppressing damage of a light emitting device inner structure improving emission efficiency. A vacuum container forming an outer shape of a light emitting device comprises a first substrate(10) and a second substrate(12) which are disposed in parallel to face each other as leaving a space for a predetermined interval. In one side of the first substrate facing the second substrate, an electron emit unit comprising electron emitting devices is provided. In one side of the second surface facing the first substrate, a light emitting unit is provided. The light emitting unit emits visible light by receiving electrons. The light emitting unit has an effective region(200) and an unavailable part(210) positioned in an effective region neighboring. An arcing prevention member(34) is formed in the unavailable part.
