The pillbox has a support plate with a drug holding receptacle (1) disposed side by side in a same plane of a drug storing and distributing case that stores and distributes the drug (2). The drug is releasable from the case towards the receptacle using a communication unit arranged between the case and the receptacle and activated on a control. An electronic unit realizes the control of the communication unit. The communication unit is constituted of a central slot (16) located on a barrier arranged between the case and the receptacle.
