<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce γ-aminobutyric acid in a short time by reacting a high-concentration solution or dispersion of glutamic acid or a glutamate with a proper amount of wheat embryo and pyridoxal phosphate and by enzyme action of glutamic acid decarboxylase in wheat embryo from glutamic acid, in the solution or the suspension and glutamic acid in the wheat embryo. <P>SOLUTION: A high-concentration solution or dispersion of glutamic acid or a glutamate is made to react with an appropriate amount of wheat embryo on the market and pyridoxal phosphate, under optimal reaction conditions of glutamic acid decarboxylase in wheat embryo, to efficiently prepare a high-concentration solution of γ-aminobutyric acid, in innovatively shorter time than that of conventional methods for producing the γ-aminobutyric acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
