PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further surely prevent sales of an article degraded in quality and simplify the carrying structure to a heat retention chamber in a vending machine adapted to partition the heat retention chamber for cooling or warming an article from a storage chamber for storing the article. SOLUTION: The vending machine is adapted to partition a heat retention zone from a storage zone with heat insulation by carrying the article in order from the rearmost side within a commodity storage column 42 into the heat insulation chamber by an article carrying mechanism followed by cooling or warming. Therefore, the power consumption can be reduced. Further, by providing the commodity carrying mechanism with a relay carrying means 57 for temporarily holding an article 22 and an engagement member 58 for catching a carrying stage 59 with the article placed thereon, an exclusive drive means for delivery of the article is dispensed with.
