<p>A decoder which performs error correction decoding of encoded data constituted by the combination of an outer signal for first error correction and an inner code for second error correction. The decoder comprises a demodulator which generates a data series of likelihood information values, a second error correction decoder which executes repetitive decoding for the second error correction on the basis of the likelihood information value to generate a hardness judgment value series, and a first error correction decoder which detects a lost bit in the hardness judgment value series to generate an erasure flag indicating the position of the detected lost bit. The second error correction decoder, according to the erasure flag, executes the repetitive decoding on the basis of a likelihood information value which does not correspond to the position of the lost bit out of the data series of the likelihood information values and a predetermined value which invalidates a likelihood information value which corresponds to the position of the lost bit.</p> |
