<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-based polarizing film having the property that orthogonal transmittance is evenly low in a wavelength region of 500-600 nm including 600 nm, and also having excellent light resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The dye-based polarizing film contains compounds including an azo compound of formula (I) and an organic dye such as C.I.
