<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable decoding corresponding to highly efficient coding for a motion picture having luminance changing with time such as a fading picture or a dissolving picture. <P>SOLUTION: A variable width decoder 303 decodes coded data 300 including a predicted error signal representing an error of a predicted image signal for a motion picture signal having a luminance signal and two color difference signals, motion vector information 414 and index information 415 indicating a combination of at least one reference image number and a predicted parameter prepared in advance for each luminance signal and two color difference signals. A frame memory/predicted image generating device 308 generates a predicted image signal 412 in accordance with the reference image number and the prediction parameter of the combination represented by the decoded index information, and generates a reproduction motion picture signal by using the predicted error signal and the predicted image signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
