PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor having a connecting structure of a connecting pipe, without forming a swelling part by a brazing material on the inner surface side of a sealed vessel, even when the connecting pipe is connected to a body part of the sealed vessel by a fixation by brazing. SOLUTION: For positioning and fixing a pipe end surface 30s in a position retreating outside in the radial direction more than an inner wall surface in a longitudinal section of the sealed vessel 2, an insertion hole 2h includes a small diameter area L1 composed of a diameter d2 smaller than a diameter d1 of the connecting pipe 30 on the inner wall surface side of the sealed vessel 2 and a large diameter area L2 composed of a diameter d3 for passing the connecting pipe 30 on the outer wall surface side of the sealed vessel 2.
