PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a falling rock monitoring device inexpensively installed over a distance of several kilometers along a railroad track and ensuring stable operation for a long time. SOLUTION: This falling rock monitoring device is provided with: a plurality of sets of sensor units installed in a falling rock monitoring section; and a master machine for outputting an alarm signal based on falling rock detection signals outputted from the sensor units. The sensor unit is composed of: a group of falling rock detection fences; end part supports installed in both end parts of the group of falling rock detection fences; and a sensor box attached to either of the end part supports. The group of falling rock detection fences is attached by using fence supports erected at the predetermined interval, and a sensor wire is slidably attached to upper parts of the group of falling rock detection fences. One end part of the sensor wire is connected with the sensor box to operate a switch, the other end part of the sensor wire is fixed on the other end part support, and the master machine and the switches in the sensor box are mutually and sequentially connected in series by a metallic transmission cable.
