PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a falling rock detection device inexpensively installed along a railroad track and ensuring stable operation for a long time. SOLUTION: This falling rock detection device is composed of: a group of falling rock detection fences; end part supports at both ends of the fence; and a sensor box attached to the end part support. The group of falling rock detection fences are constituted by storing a sensor wire slidably in a PF pipe for protection supported on the fence supports installed at the predetermined interval and attached to upper parts of the group of falling rock detection fences, connecting one end part of the sensor wire with the sensor box to operate a switch, and fixing the other end part of the sensor wire on the other end part support. The sensor box is provided with: the switch having an actuator; a spring; an operation wire connected with the sensor wire by leaving an extra length part; and a housing storing them.
