PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a surface defect in a hot dip galvanized steel sheet manufactured in a CGL, in particular a stripe pattern called in question in the manufacturing of a hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. SOLUTION: When the hot-dip galvanized steel sheet is manufactured by performing hot dip galvanizing of a steel sheet 20 transferred in the CGL after grinding both surfaces of the steel sheet 20 with a couple of brush rolls 21 oppositely arranged, the off-set amount t (mm) between the central axis of an upper brush roll 21a and the central axis of a lower brush role 21b in the transfer direction of the steel sheet 20 and the push-in amount P (mm) of the lower brush role 21b in the thickness direction of the steel sheet 20 are set to satisfy following formula (1): 0.5/P≤t≤3.0 and formula (2): 0.5≤P≤5 mm.
