The method for producing a compound body (1) that has two metallic outer layers (2, 3) between which is a coating material containing an elastomeric layer (4). The coating material is carried as a first section layer (4a) upon which the elastomeric layer sits on the first outer layer (2) and a second section layer (4b) with an elastomeric layer upon which sits a second outer layer (3). The coated outer layers form a bearing and transportable intermediate product (5, 6) with the joining together of the section layers forming the compound body .
