An apparatus for controlling the drive of a motor in a bill recycling machine and a method thereof are provided to confirm state change of the motor on a real time basis by producing RPM as the output period with a counting mode including pulse generated to recent by the constant interval after the pulse generated as the output period through a hall sensor is and RPM is produced. Predetermined driving voltage is provided to a motor and referred RPM is obtained(S502). A state detection part senses a status signal of the motor and a pulse signal measured in the motor is provided(S504). The pulse generated as an output period is counted and RPM is produced and the count of the pulse most previously generated as the constant interval is excluded and RPM as the output period is calculated to a counting mode including the pulse generated to recent to the constant interval(S508). Whether the calculated RPM is identical with a normality RPM or not is determined(S520). When the calculated RPM is higher than the normality RPM, driving voltage is lowered(S518). When the calculated RPM is lower than that the normality RPM, the driving voltage is raised. |
