To provide a path guide system capable of shortening a time required for a user to compare path guide information displayed on a display part with marks such as signboards set up at actual facilities or the like, thereby allowing the user to more smoothly get to a destination. The path guide system associates special mode image data with the corresponding marks and stores them. These special mode image data are data to be used for displaying special mode images having imagination-colored areas in which colors are provided that allow a viewer to imagine actual marks usable for guiding paths. The path guide system then retrieves, out of the special mode image data, one corresponding to marks set up on paths found by a path search, and then causes an image, in which a search result display image is accompanied by a special mode image based on the retrieved special mode image data, to be displayed.
