PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide wurtzite-type nanocrystals and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing wurtzite-type nanocrystals represented by the general formula: Cu<SB>x</SB>In<SB>y</SB>S<SB>z</SB>(wherein 0<x<2, 0<y<2, x+y=2 and z=0.5x+1.5y) includes mixing copper sulfide nanoparticles (Cu<SB>2-δ</SB>S) (wherein 0≤δ≤1) having a hexagonal structure, with an indium compound and a sulfur compound in an amine solution.
