PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microphone having a buffer means capable of reducing vibration noise in normal use and preventing a microphone unit from being displaced excessively by strong impact, such as drop impact. SOLUTION: In the microphone, the microphone unit 30 having an electroacoustic transducer is supported resiliently via the buffer means at one end side of a microphone casing 10, a damper 20 with an electroviscous fluid arranged between a pair of electrodes is used as the cushioning, a piezoelectric element 40 generating electricity by an impact applied to the microphone casing 10 is provided in the microphone casing 10, voltage generated by the piezoelectric element 40 at impact reception is applied to the electroviscous fluid, and the viscosity of the electroviscous fluid is increased momentarily to restrain the excessive displacement of the microphone casing 10.
