PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of surely recording the flashing state of an object (e.g. LED signal) which repeats flashing with a fixed period. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with an imaging element for converting optical information into an electrical signal, a shutter timing control part for controlling the exposure start timing and exposure end timing of the imaging element; a signal processing part for applying prescribed signal processing to an output signal from the imaging element, a buffer means, for temporarily storing an output signal of the signal processing part and outputting the stored output signal at a prescribed output timing (Ts), and an output timing control part for controlling the output period. The shutter timing control part sets the exposure start timing and the exposure end timing to timing (t's0, t's1, ...), (t'e0, t'e1, ...), which are shifted from timing synchronized with the output timing (Ts) by a prescribed time (Δt), before and after.
