PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid image-capturing element and an image-capturing device which can uniformly lower an applied voltage needed to sweep and dump accumulated charges of pixels in an entire photosensitive pixel area to an overflow drain, and can carry out precise black-level amendment. SOLUTION: A semiconductor substrate has a photosensitive pixel area 55 in which a plurality of pixels 63 each having a photosensor 61 photoelectrically converting incident light are arranged in line and column directions, and an optical black area 53 in which incident light is cut off to detect a black signal level. A plurality of dummy pixels 65 are arranged annularly around the photosensitive pixel area 55 in adjacent thereto, each dummy pixel 65 having a conductive semiconductor region identical with a charge accumulating portion of the photosensor 61. The optical black area 53 is formed to encircle the dummy pixels 65, and includes pixels 67 having photosensors and pixels 69 not having photosensors. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
