PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a green color characteristic to increase its display performance in a light emitting device such as a PDP (Plasma Display Panel) made of a phosphor. SOLUTION: As a green phosphor, a deep green light emitting phosphor of a formula (Mg<SB>1-x-e</SB>Zn<SB>x</SB>)<SB>-</SB>Ga<SB>2</SB>O<SB>4</SB>:Mn<SP>2+</SP><SB>e</SB>is used to constitute the light emitting device and a display device such as the PDP.
