PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of compatibly improving a liquid side leakage prevention property and improving an article kink prevention property in the absorbent article provided with side sheets, and to provide the absorbent article capable of imparting decorativeness while maintaining the high functions as needed. SOLUTION: The absorbent article is provided with a pair of left and right side sheets over the almost entire length of both side edge parts of an absorptive main body comprising a liquid permeable surface sheet, a liquid retentive absorbent and a leakage prevention sheet so as to respectively cover the outer edges on both sides of the absorbent on the skin abutting surface side. First emboss columns and second emboss columns provided continuously or intermittently in the longitudinal direction bonding the side sheets and one of the surface sheet, absorbent and leakage prevention sheet of the absorptive main body are respectively arrayed on both sides of the outer edge of the absorbent on the respective side sheets.
