<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when changing a secret code number in an automatic transaction device by operation of a customer, an improper number as a personal identification number, easy to guess by a third party, is not seen from the customer, the customer knows only a result of rejection/permission when the customer designates a new personal identification number, and as a result, the customer designates a new personal identification number once more and go through the procedure again when the change is rejected. <P>SOLUTION: In this automatic transaction system, the personal identification numbers easy to guess by the third party are registered in a database connected to a host computer, and they are displayed on a customer operation display part of the automatic transaction device a personal identification number change transaction.
