PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restraining satisfactorily a color shift in a multicolor image caused by curving of a main scanning line. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a holder 52Y for holding the third reflecting mirror 46Y under the condition where it is forcibly curved along a direction orthogonal to the main scanning line, and a push-in means comprising a motor 65Y or the like for pushing the third reflecting mirror 46Y held by the holder 52Y in along a direction reverse to the forcibly curved direction by the holder 52Y, a curving regulating means is provided to regulate a curving direction and a curved amount of the main scanning line on a photoreceptor surface by regulating a push-in amount by the push-in means, in each of a plurality of reflection optical systems, and the curving direction of the main scanning line by the forcible curving of the third reflecting mirror 46Y due to the holder 52Y is brought into the same direction in a plurality of photoreceptors.
