PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning apparatus for an optical fiber with reduced transmission loss and improved outer diameter evenness, reduced in maintenance cost, and to provide a method for producing such an optical fiber using the above spinning apparatus. SOLUTION: The spinning apparatus for an optical fiber includes a spinning head having a resin feed port, a flow channel for a molten resin, which serves as a passage for a molten resin flowing from the resin feed port, and a nozzle via which the molten resin passed through the channel is extruded. In this spinning apparatus, at least part of the above flow channel is formed of one or more alloys of Ni-Cr-Mo-based alloy, Ni-Cr-based alloy, and Ni-Cr-Mo-Fe-based alloy.
