PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element excellent in durability and efficiency. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element includes at least a carbazole derivative between a pair of electrodes expressed by the following general formula (1), where A denotes a hydrocarbon radical or a hydrocarbon radical including silicon, R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>14</SB>respectively independently denote either one of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, and an aralkyl group, and Y<SB>1</SB>and Y<SB>2</SB>respectively independently denote a group having one or more kinds chosen from hydrogen, sulfur, phosphorous, boron, silicon, germanium and tin, a group connected by an aromatic group and a group having one or more kinds chosen from oxygen, sulfur, phosphorous, boron, silicon, germanium, and tin, and either one of an aromatic group and an alkylene group, and m and n denote 0 or 1, respectively.
