PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the coating defect of paste due to foreign matter on a substrate. SOLUTION: The paste coating apparatus 1 includes: a paste coating part 17 for performing processing of coating the paste to the prescribed part of the upper surface of the substrate P before component mounting processing is performed; an imaging means 52 for imaging the upper surface of the substrate P before the paste coating processing by the paste coating part 17 is performed; and a control means for judging the presence/absence of a foreign matter stuck to the upper surface of the substrate P on the basis of image data fetched to the imaging means 52, and when the presence of the foreign matter is confirmed as the result of judgment, performing prescribed foreign matter coping control as control to cope with it.
