METHOD FOR FORMING A FLANGE OF A WINDOW GLASS

A flange forming method of window glass is provided to maintain a high machining accuracy by dry etching or wet etching a front surface and a back surface of a glass raw plate using etching masks of the different shape and processing a step height of the flange part and cutting it in a backside surface. A flange forming method of window glass contains steps of: molding a mask(22) of a flange shape at upper side and molding a mask of outline shape same to outer size of the window at a lower part; dry etching an upper side of the disk glass in which a flange shape mask is shaped; and wet etching or dry etching a lower part of the disk glass in which an outline shape mask of the window is shaped. The up and down sides of the disk glass are etched at the same time. The mask is shaped to a dry film or a photoresist in the wet etching or the dry etching.
