PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector that is a drop-in type and mounted in a notched portion of a substrate and whose shell is hard to deform. SOLUTION: In the shell 30 comprising an upper plate member 31, a lower plate member 32, a fitting hole 33 and a connection portion 34, a fixing portion 50 to be secured to the substrate 2 is provided at a longitudinal end portion of the upper plate member 31 and when a force acting in the direction from the upper plate member 31 to the lower plate member 32 is applied to the connector 1, a counteraction means 60 against the force is provided at a longitudinal end portion of the lower plate member 32.
