PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that it is necessary to reduce the thickness of a color filter with the refining of a pixel size in the formation of the color filter in a solid-state imaging device and, therein, although the color filter can be formed by incorporating a dispersant into the color filter, the deposition of the dispersant is caused to bring about the deterioration in color reproducibility. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the color filter in which a plurality of light transmissive films are selectively arranged every optical devices by successively pattern-forming the plurality of light transmissive films producing different transmitted colors on the surfaces of the plurality of optical elements arranged on a substrate includes: a barrier wall film forming step of forming a mesh-like base barrier wall film that demarcates a plurality of light transmissive films; and a light transmissive film forming step of forming the light transmissive films on division regions demarcated by the base barrier wall film.
