PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage battery in which a liquid leakage prevention function is improved so that an electrolytic solution in a cell chamber is not leaked over a long time even in an inverted state. SOLUTION: In the storage battery which is composed of double lid structure wherein separation is made between respective exhaust cylinders 3 communicated with those respective cell chambers 40b and the mutually neighboring exhaust cylinders 3 on the upper face of a battery case 40 having a plurality of cell chambers 40b of which the interior is divided by a partitioning wall 40c, airtightness is applied to the lid body 1 in which respective independent exhaust passages 6a are formed by a surrounding surrounding barrier rib 5a, and to the upper face of the lid main body 1, in which respective independent exhaust passages 6b corresponding to the respective independent exhaust passages 6a of the lid main body 1 are installed on the rear face, and which is equipped with a gas exhaust port 23 which is exhausted via at least one gas filter 21, and furthermore in which an air lock mechanism to prevent that the electrolytic solution in the respective cell chambers is leaked outside is equipped, a weir stop member 60 is interposed in the exhaust passages 6a of the rear face of the upper lid 1.
