PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program update method in which a plug-in for bug correction is actualized by live patching even for a kernel. SOLUTION: The program update method for introducing a plug as a module corresponding to a corrected portion of the kernel into the kernel, the program update method including the steps of: writing the plug to a free area of the kernel; stopping the execution of the kernel except a procedure for introducing the plug; and rewriting a code of the corrected portion into a jump code for making the procedure jump to the plug at the corrected portion.
