<p>In a fabric attachable to other fabrics by heat and pressure for use as laundry or dry cleaning labels or as interlinings, the warp consists of a non-thermoplastic yarn doubled with a continuous multifilament thermoplastic yarn, and the weft consists of non-thermoplastic yarns. The thermoplastic yarns may be of cellulose acetate, polyvinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride copolymer, or low softening point nylon; the non-thermoplastic yarns are of cotton or viscose rayon. Every third warp thread may be woven 2-and-1 twill with the intervening threads woven plain, or the weave may be entirely plain. Labels having a non-adherent finger grip may be cut from a tape having a non-thermoplastic edge or from a wide fabric having non-thermoplastic stripes; or a finger grip may be provided during application by omitting to apply heat and pressure to one end of the label.
