<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent mangosteen-processed material having a weak adverse effect and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The mangosteen-processed material having an improved xanthone absorption comprises ground mangosteen and has an improved xanthone absorption. The method for producing the mangosteen-processed material comprises a process of adding an apple juice and a lipase for transesterification to the ground mangosteen and heating the mixture. The method for producing the mangosteen-processed material comprises grinding mangosteen and adding an apple juice and a lipase for transesterification to the ground mangosteen so as to increase an xanthone absorption from the intestinal tract by the lipase. The method for producing the mangosteen-processed material comprises a process of adding ground soybean and Bacillus natto to ground mangosteen and fermenting the mixture. The method for producing the mangosteen-processed material having an improved xanthone absorption comprises a process of fermenting ground mangosteen and ground soybean with Bacillus natto.
