PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance testing method for an HGA at the time of a low driving voltage, which can be actualized in a short time through a simple process. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the performance testing method for the HGA having a magnetic head and a microactuator precisely positioning the magnetic head over a magnetic medium, wherein the microactuator is driven in a previously set positive direction using DC voltage driving and driven in a previously set minus direction using DC voltage driving, and lastly, three track center values are calculated. Then the magnetic head is moved by a predetermined distance in an off-track direction wherein the magnetic head deviates from the center of a track, thereby a performance test of the HGA is made possible even at the time of a low driving voltage.
