PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stern tube bush unit and its installation method capable of shortening the period of providing the stern tube bush unit, and considerably shortening the entire construction period of a ship. SOLUTION: The stern tube bush unit includes a bush and a bush housing which are separately provided on a propeller side and an engine side with the propeller shaft being rotated therein, a tube integrally coupled between the bush housings, a sealing line inserted in the bush and the tube, rubber sponges fitted to both ends of a gap between a hull and each bush housing, a dam which is fixed to the hull in a projecting manner to support the rubber sponges so as not to be projected from the gap, and a two-component type resin which is filled in the gap between the hull and each bush housing to seal and fix the hull and the bush unit.
