<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a video rental system which allows a user to view animation contents of his interest, as conveniently as television, at anytime with ease via the Internet. <P>SOLUTION: This video rental system is provided with a center server 12, a dedicated terminal 14 always connected to the center server 12 via the Internet 18, and a user ID card 50 for each user. The center server 12 transmits a relevant moving picture file and expiration date information to the dedicated terminal 14, when video title selecting information is transmitted from the dedicated terminal 14. The dedicated terminal 14 is connected to a television 29 and is provided with a card reader 26 for reading ID cards, a dedicated Web browser, and a means for reproducing a moving picture file having audio via the television 29.
