<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital rubbing device to which a new concept of digital rubbing is applied, breaking away from the concept of printing; and to provide a method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: Paper is placed on a picture plate 110 in which a two-dimensional digital image is stored. The two-dimensional digital image is transferred to the paper while the paper is rubbed with an electronic pencil 130. The electronic pencil 130 includes a position transmission means 132 and a marking means 133 for printing. The picture plate 110 includes: an electronic pencil position recognition means 112 for receiving the input of a signal outputted from the position transmission means 132 of the electronic pencil 130 and obtaining the position of the electronic pencil 130, an information processing means taking an overall system delay in consideration from the present positional coordinates of the electronic pencil 130 grasped by the electronic pencil position recognition means 112 and calculating a printing output signal by referring to a pixel of the printing output coordinates, and a means for transmitting a control signal to the electronic pencil 130 when there is a change to the printing output signal.
