PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing fluctuation in the internal pressure of a recording head by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: A branch portion 70 for making an ink supply path branch off is arranged in one recording head 1; ink is supplied to the branch portion 70 from an ink tank 60 via a common channel 71; an individual channel 72 for supplying the ink to a plurality of head units 101, constituting a recording head 1, from the branch portion 70 is provided; a filter unit 73, which includes a filter with a cross-sectional area of an opening, smaller than that of an opening of a nozzle of the head unit 101, is interposed; and an ink tank 60 side inlet of the common channel 71 is provided with a check valve 80 for restricting an ink flow in the direction of being directed to the ink tank 60 from the branch portion 70.
