PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently improve a gain by mounting an AMC (Artificial Magnetic Conductor) element having resonance characteristics around a patch antenna, thereby suppressing surface wave propagation. SOLUTION: The AMC element is mounted in a region near both edges in a feeding point offset direction where electric field strength between a radiation conductor plate and a ground conductor plate becomes approximately maximum, thereby effectively suppressing a TM mode (surface wave propagation) flowing out toward a ground conductor terminal. On the other hand, an insulated area is formed in which no AMC element is disposed in other regions, thereby suppressing to a minimum an unwanted radiation source that may be newly generated by being mounted with the AMC element.
